Local News Items

This section is where you will post and discuss news items that are pretty much focused on local issues, particularly issues regarding local politics, local government, and local social events that you think affect your community's quality of living. Local news items include news that occurred in your community, village, town, city, county or state. If they directly influenced you, then all the better – the closer the news item is to your heart, the better you will be able to sound off on the actual release and how it was handled. You can give a commentary on news items that discuss the performance of your local politicians (whether good or bad), the progress of their projects, and the existence or non-existence of corruption in your government's system.

Was there some sort of calamity or rise in crime rate in your community? Did your local media handle it tastefully and delicately? Or did they throw themselves at it like a pack of sensationalist suits? Are they shying away from news of how the local government is handling it? Or are they being unfairly critical to the individuals concerned, just so they would seem like “real” journalists? We would really like to hear your opinion.
