Pointless News Items

Which news items do you think are incredibly pointless and are a waste of paper, airtime, or cyberspace? Post them and talk about them in this section. Whether it's about a cute little chihuahua who could or about the latest gossip on a favorite international star, if you think that the news item would not in any way benefit mankind then post them here. You are allowed to run a commentary on how much time it took away from real news. You can also write a commentary on the news networks that tend to “fluff up” their hour with insubstantial items. Do you think they do this in an attempt to not offend anyone who may close them down? You can post your thoughts on that in this section.

In this section, you are given the power to determine which news items are not for the benefit of mankind and are only there because they have “human interest”. You can also argue over whether or not these news items are really unimportant in the long run. If you think that a particular news item has no merit whatsoever, you are welcome to deconstruct it. Mind you, we are not in favor of all-out bashing; we strive for an intelligent dialogue over current affairs.
